It’s confirmed: graphic Ts/sweatshirts are the perfect platform for proclamations.
After spotting Warriors player Jordan Bell in a sweatshirt exclaiming “Women Ball Too”, I had to know where I could get a matching pullover.
I immediately took to the platform where all good and true research is completed: Instagram. Which is where I quickly found the brand aptly named Women Ball Too (yeah, it was an easy research project).
If I didn’t go to journalism school and I didn’t regard plagiarism as one of the seven deadly sins, I would copy/pasta Women Ball Too’s whole mission statement right here and claim it as Func Bod’s own. It’s that good.
But alas, I’ll give credit where credit is due and encourage you to read the inspiring manifesto on Women Ball Too’s website. Here’s a sneak peak of the first two lines:
FROM THE GRANDMOTHER WHO TAUGHT US, THE MOTHER WHO NURTURED US, TO THE SISTER WHO LOVED US: GENTILE, PATIENT, COMFORTING, AND COMPASSIONATE. HOWEVER, WE CAN NOT FORGET SHE IS ALSO THE GRANDMOTHER WHO PROTECTED US, THE MOTHER WHO STRENGTHENED US, AND THE SISTER WHO PUSHED US.
OUR CULTURE IS FILLED WITH DEEPLY IMBEDDED IDEAS ABOUT POWER, STRENGTH, AND COMPETITION BEING MASCULINE QUALITIES, AND FOR WOMEN WHO EMBODY THESE THINGS, IT IS CONFUSING FOR SOCIETY BECAUSE IT GOES AGAINST UNCONSCIOUS STEREOTYPES ABOUT THE ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES OF MEN VERSUS WOMEN, ESPECIALLY IN THE REALM OF SPORTS.
CHILLS. After you recover from the read, buy the darn sweatshirt — or T, if that’s more your style.
