BREAKING: U.S. women’s national soccer team and U.S. soccer agree to mediation in pay-equity lawsuit

The Wall Street Journal reported that members of the U.S. women’s national soccer team and U.S. Soccer have tentative plans to sit and talk about mediation after the World Cup.

On March 8 this year, 28 players sued the federation for pay discrimination. U.S. Soccer originally denied discrimination and used differing pay structure and benefit packages along with revenue generation as defenses.

If the mediation goes forward, it could resolve the pay discrimination issues outlined in the lawsuit.
