Simona Halep played a near-flawless game against Serena Williams at the Wimbledon finals, dominating the first two sets and wrapping the game up in less than an hour.
Though Halep’s game was quick and beautiful to watch, one couldn’t help but sympathize with Serena, who is chasing after her 24th Grand Slam Trophy to tie the current record. She fell short again today.
In a post-game press conference, Serena said:
“When someone plays lights-out, there’s really not much you can do. You just have to understand that that was their day. I just have to figure out how to win a final.”
